Committee
The Company is run by a committee of members who are appointed annually. The current committee members are shown below:
Richard Drewe, Chairman
Richard has been doing archery for over 30 years; he founded the Lionheart Company of Bowmen in 1997 with Andrew Bubb and Frank Dyer to focus on the more traditional aspects of the sport. He held the position of secretary from 1997 before becoming chairman in 2006. As chairman, Richard is responsible for the overall running of the club as well as organising the club's summer events. Richard lives in Melton Mowbray and is a professional photographer (see his website).
Bill Pead, Secretary
Bill has been an archer for 16 years and a qualified coach since 1999. He joined the club in 2003 and has been the club secretary since 2006. As secretary he is responsible for membership and general club administration. Bill is a design engineer and lives in Melton Mowbray. His interests include history and making his own archery equipment.
Dave Cram, Treasurer
Dave joined the club in 2000 with his two sons, Thomas and James. He has been the club treasurer since 2003; as treasurer he is in charge of all financial aspects of the club. Dave also serves as the club's field captain and as such he is responsible for safety at practice sessions and works with risk assessor Andrew Bubb to ensure safety at the club events. Dave is an accountant living in Syston.
Andrew Bubb, Risk Assessor
Andy has been shooting for 18 years and is a founder member of the Lionheart Company of Bowmen. He has been the club's risk assessor since 1997 and was also treasurer until 2003. As risk assessor, his job is to survey each event location and produce a site-specific risk assessment as well as a genereric risk assessment that covers potential hazards at all events. He also works with field captain Dave Cram during the events to ensure safety. Andy lives in Melton Mowbray.
Thomas Cram, Equipment Officer
Thomas joined the club in 2000 with his father and brother. He has been equipment officer since 2003 when he took over the job from Phil Rayner. As equipment officer he is responsible for the purchase and maintenance of the club's shooting equipment and for making the arrows used at the club events. Thomas lives in Loughborough and is a computing student at Loughborough University.
John Clayton, Armourer
John joined the club in 2003 having previously been a member of another local club. He has been the club's armourer since 2005. As armourer John is responsible for the maintenance of various pieces of club equipment, particularly the display pieces used at events including the replica weapons and medieval tents. He also makes the club's target stands and paints our decorative shields. John lives in Melton Mowbray.
James Cram, Webmaster
James joined the club in 2000 with his father and brother. In 2004, he set up a website for the club and took the position of webmaster. In 2005 he opened an account on photo-sharing website Flickr for the club which now has hundreds of photos taken by club members. As webmaster he is responsible for maintenance of the club's online activities including this website and our Flickr account. James lives in Loughborough but is currently away at the University of Birmingham studying Physics.
