Events
During the summer, we hold a number of public have-a-go events at various castles and stately homes as well as local village fetes and shows. At these events members of the public have the opportunity to shoot a traditional English Longbow. This is a unique experience offered by very few other organisations in the country. We can also cater for corporate and private events, please contact us for details.
At many of our events there is a historical display area with medieval tents and a growing collection of replica medieval weaponry including swords and axes, some of which were used as props in films such as Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Braveheart. We also have two replica medieval warbows, similar to the ones used in battles such as Agincourt, and a medieval style crossbow.
At most of our events we charge a fee of £2.00 to shoot six arrows with one-to-one tuition. A portion of our income is donated to charitable causes and event venues such as the National Trust. The remainder is used to cover the costs of club administration and equipment including bows, arrows and medieval display pieces.
A list of events for 2010 is available below. Photos from some of our previous events can be found in the gallery or on our Flickr account.
